Alessia Xausa of the Thomas Brambilla Gallery wins the ninth edition of the Premio Gruppo Euromobil Under 30

An artist proposed by Galleria Thomas Brambilla (pavilion 25 stand A83), Alessia Xausa, with her 2015 work "Untitled", won the ninth edition of the Premio Gruppo Euromobil Under 30, promoted by the Lucchetta brothers.
The jury comprised Gaspare, Antonio, Fiorenzo and Giancarlo Lucchetta, owners of Gruppo Euromobil and art collectors, Claudio Spadoni and Giorgio Verzotti, art directors of Arte Fiera, Beatrice Buscaroli, art critic, Aldo Colonetti, design critic, and designer Cleto Munari.  Secretary to the Jury: Roberto Gobbo.
The work will become part of the Gruppo Euromobil art collection and will be exhibited in the Euromobil headquarters at Falzè di Piave, Treviso.

In a market that appears to display increasingly less propensity to count on under 30s, the Gruppo Euromobil Award goes against the flow and involves a considerable group of galleries taking part in the Bologna Arte Fiera.
Over 9 years the Award promoted by the Lucchetta brothers has examined more than 350 works by over 200 artists, stimulating galleries to present the younger artists at Arte Fiera and grasp the opportunity offered by the Award, which rewards the artist by purchasing the work.
At the last edition there was a feeling that the galleries at the Bologna fair were losing faith in the younger generations. There were many signs that works confirming well-known artists of consolidated renown were compromising the presentation of young artists, considered a shot in the dark.
But it was not so.  This edition of the Award was one of the liveliest and most challenging because the 27 works by 23 artists presented by 12 galleries were of an even higher quality than the previous editions; several artists were particularly interesting and presented highly original works.

In the end the winner was Alessia Xausa, born in 1991 in Turin.  She lives and studies in her native city and has received prizes and acknowledgements in Italy and elsewhere (Ettore Fico Foundation Award).  She uses various methods but prefers lightly spread oil.  Her work "Untitled", acrylic and graphite on canvas, the winner of this ninth edition of the Premio Euromobil, displays extreme tonal delicacy and a profound figurative culture.

This is the second time Alessia Xausa has been at Arte Fiera and she is presented by young gallery owner Thomas Brambilla from Bergamo.

Now that the jury has assigned its award, the general public can have their say.  Anyone who wishes to do so can express their opinion and cast their vote on the Group’s website: www.gruppoeuromobil.it.  The public’s votes will be counted up to 12 noon on 2 February and later the winning artist of this second people’s award will be announced.
