Guido Strazza was born in Santa Flora, in the Province of Grosseto in 1922. He currently lives and works in Rome. After having participated in many important group and solo exhibitions, the work of Guido Strazza has been recognized by art institutions such asl’Accademia dei Lincei, which in 1988 awarded him the prize A. Feltrinelli for Graphics and, in 2003, one for engraving. In 1990, the Calciografia Nazionale devotes a retrospective of the work engraved with the title "Strazza, opera Grafiche 1953-1990". In 2001 he was invited to participate in the exhibition "Novecento" to the Scuderie Papali al Quirinale and the following year received in Campidoglio the Premio Cultori di Roma. He has taught at Calcografia Nazionale, at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Aquila, at Wesleyan University (Connecticut, USA) and at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, where he was also director. He is member of the Accademia Nazionale of San Luca, of the Istituto Nazionale di Studi Romani and of the Koninklijke Vlaamse Accademie van België.
