ZALF | Case Study Spaces, Milano Design Week 2026
On the occasion of Fuorisalone Milano, the Zalf flagship store in Foro Bonaparte presents Case Study Spaces, a new design configuration intended to endure. Not a temporary installation, but a permanent evolution of the space, taking shape as a structural expression of the brand’s vision.
Today, living is no longer a fixed condition, but a system in motion. Spaces shift in function, rhythm and density. The home evolves over time, together with those who inhabit it. Designing for contemporary living means creating structures capable of adapting, integrating and enduring — not episodic solutions, but open systems. New generations inhabit space in a fluid way: they move between cities, configurations and modes of use. They seek furnishings capable of accompanying these transformations without losing quality, coherence or identity. Zalf responds to this scenario with a precise design approach: furniture conceived to move across time, places and functions. Compatible elements, solid in construction and flexible in use. From this perspective, sustainability is not limited to materials or processes. It lies in the ability to design furniture that does not become obsolete — systems that can integrate, expand and change function without being replaced. A design and economic investment that remains relevant across new needs, new spaces and new lives.
Within this framework, SpaceMakers HOME defines Zalf’s evolving identity: a programme of compatible, modular and transversal systems designed to create spaces that transform over time.
Case Study Spaces is articulated through three design scenarios — transition, sharing and continuity — each interpreting a distinct condition of contemporary living.
Within the flagship, Onespace takes shape as an interpretation of an urban studio apartment on two levels: a compact environment capable of accommodating different functions without losing identity. The furnishings establish a balance between three distinct tones from the Zalf palette — Lava, a deep and grounded shade, Agave and Terracotta, vibrant and contemporary accents — which interact to create rhythm and depth. Modularity and compatibility become practical tools to integrate, reposition and reconfigure the furniture, resulting in a flexible yet structured environment.
Nesthome and Community complete the project as conceptual and narrativescenarios, developed within a dedicated publication accompanying the installation. Sharing interprets co-living — such as student housing or co-housing environments — through flexible spaces and hybrid functions. Continuity, on the other hand, describes a domestic interior designed to evolve over time, where solidity and adaptability coexist in balance.
The flagship in Foro Bonaparte thus becomes a permanent device for exploring contemporary living. A space that does not simply display products, but stages a design system based on versatility, transversality and spatiality — concrete principles that guide the development of every collection.
With Case Study Spaces, Zalf consolidates a clear direction: a new spatial identity designed to evolve over time, in step with the transformations of contemporary living.
