23 October - 8 December 2010 | Rimini, Castel Sismondo

curated by M. Goldin

The intent of this valuable anthology collects twenty rare works by Alberto Gianquinto (Venice 1929-2003), many of which come from the collection of the family, is to give, if possible, the fullest sense of this great artist, painter elegant, lonely and consistent witness to a profound knowledge of color, sign, shape.
Gianquinto artist is a complex, multifaceted, intellectual. His painting is a thoughtful, studied: investigation and reflection, composition and research, progressive approach to the simplicity and rigor that often seem to be signs of asceticism, moderation of shapes and colors.
But alongside this strong intellectual component, Gianquinto is also a poet investigator of emotions and feelings, full of strong passions and strong, a poet and rigorous generous to the hardness and inflexibility, but whose lyric and elegiac mood does not give up take his space, his epiphanies.
