Loreto Martina

Loreto Martinwas born in San Vendemiano (TV) in 1953, lives and works in Mareno di Piave, in Treviso province.
Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice under the guidance of Edmondo Bacci.
His debut in 1977, at XLI^ Collettiva della Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa.
His research, supported by the teaching of the arts in schools, continues in the eighties and nineties with participations in group and with a large number of personals.
Produces vast cycles of oils on canvas by confronting the great masterpieces of painting: from Venetian masters of the sixteenth century, to Grunewald, to Francis Bacon, till the American Abstract Expressionists.
Martina reaches a profound simplicity, that can be the bearer of an original common sense, so as to give space despite the contradictions and corruption of our world, to positive potentiality of life, offering unexpected energies for some renewed beginning.
Among the number of exposures to be reported that at the Palazzo Sarcinelli of Conegliano Veneto (TV), Villa Brandolini in Solighetto, Diocesan Museum of Padua and Municipal Gallery of Contemporary Art in Portogruaro (Venice).
