Carlo Guarienti

Guarienti Carl was born in Treviso in 1923.
Graduated in Medicine, has devoted himself exclusively to painting since 1949. In 1953, in Rome, at the Obelisco Gallery, he held his first solo exhibition and in the same year he exhibited in Paris and Milan. Since 1954 he has participated in numerous collective in the most important Italian and foreign galleries. In 1956 he was invited to the XXVII edition of the Venice Biennale and at the Royal Academy Exhibition in London, in 1957 at La Permanente in Milan and in 1959 at the Rome Quadriennale. He has also exposed at the major international art including Kunstmesse Art in Basel. He has been author of television sets and prestigious editorial illustrations. From an initial metaphysical vein, his painting has subsequently focused on the language of expressive distortion of the human figure, to ensure, in the course of the eighties, a new form of unreality characterized by the focus of objects incongruously combined and immersed in a controlled atmosphere of light and color effects.
